DESCRIPTION

BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide derived from a protein found in the stomach. It is known for its powerful regenerative and protective effects on tissues. BPC-157 has demonstrated therapeutic potential in healing wounds, repairing tissues such as tendons, muscles, ligaments, and gastrointestinal tracts, and aiding in recovery from injuries and inflammation.

The product is supplied as a sterile, lyophilized powder for reconstitution prior to administration.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Mechanism of Action: BPC-157 promotes angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels), enhances fibroblast activity, and increases the production of growth factors critical for tissue repair. It has shown protective effects against inflammation, promoting the repair of damaged tissues, including tendons, ligaments, muscles, and the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, BPC-157 aids in healing ulcers and reducing inflammatory responses.

Pharmacokinetics:

• Absorption: Rapidly absorbed after subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.
• Distribution: Quickly distributed to areas of tissue damage.
• Metabolism: BPC-157 is metabolized by tissue enzymes.
• Excretion: Mainly excreted via the kidneys.

INDICATIONS

BPC-157 is indicated for:

• Tissue Healing and Regeneration: To support the recovery of damaged tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints.
• Gastrointestinal Healing: For healing ulcers and reducing gastrointestinal inflammation.
• Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Reducing inflammation in the body and promoting recovery from injuries.
• Post-Injury Recovery: Supporting the healing process after surgical procedures or trauma.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Dosage:

• Standard Dosing: 200 mcg to 500 mcg injected subcutaneously or intramuscularly once or twice daily, based on injury or therapeutic goal. The dose can be adjusted depending on the condition being treated.
• Duration of Use: Typically administered for 4 to 6 weeks, or until sufficient healing has been achieved. A longer duration may be needed for chronic conditions or severe injuries.

Administration:

1. Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with bacteriostatic water.
2. Inject subcutaneously or intramuscularly near the site of injury or inflammation.
3. Rotate injection sites to prevent localized irritation.

Reconstitution:

• Reconstitute each 10 mg vial with an appropriate amount of bacteriostatic water (typically 1 ml to 2 ml).
• Store the reconstituted solution in the refrigerator and use within 7 days.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Hypersensitivity: Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to BPC-157 or any of its components.
• Pregnancy and Lactation: Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as there is insufficient data regarding its safety.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

1. Tumor Growth Risk: Although BPC-157 promotes tissue repair, use caution in individuals with known malignancies due to concerns about potentially promoting tumor growth.

2. Cardiovascular Conditions: While BPC-157 aids in tissue repair, it may cause fluid retention. Use cautiously in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular conditions.

3. Autoimmune Conditions: Patients with autoimmune conditions should consult a healthcare professional before using BPC-157, as it may modulate immune responses.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Common side effects:

• Localized reactions at the injection site (redness, swelling, or pain)
• Mild dizziness or headache
• Temporary fatigue

 

 

Serious adverse effects:

• Allergic Reactions: Symptoms may include rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing, requiring immediate medical attention.
• Hypotension: A temporary drop in blood pressure may occur in some individuals.

INTERACTIONS

• Anti-Inflammatory Medications: BPC-157 may reduce the need for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) by promoting faster healing. Monitor for interactions if used concurrently.
• Steroids and Growth Hormone: Caution should be taken when used with steroids or growth hormones, as these combinations may amplify tissue repair effects.

USE IN SPECIFIC POPULATIONS

Pregnancy and Lactation: BPC-157 has not been studied in pregnant or lactating women. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a healthcare provider.

Pediatric Use: BPC-157 has not been adequately studied in children. Its use in pediatric patients should only be under the guidance of a healthcare professional.

Geriatric Use: Older adults may benefit from the regenerative properties of BPC-157, but its use should be closely monitored, especially in individuals with chronic health conditions.

OVERDOSAGE

Overdose with BPC-157 is unlikely, but excessive use may lead to fluid retention or blood pressure changes. In case of overdose, discontinue use and seek medical assistance if serious symptoms occur.

STORAGE

Store the lyophilized powder at controlled room temperature (20°C to 25°C / 68°F to 77°F).

Once reconstituted, store the solution in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) and use within 7 days.
